Revolutionize Your Material Handling
Self-erecting tower cranes are transforming construction sites across North America. Compared to conventional tower cranes, mobile cranes, and other material handling equipment, they deliver significant cost savings, improve jobsite safety, and boost productivity — all while speeding up your build timeline.
See the Savings in Action
Here’s how a self-erecting tower crane, like one of our 35m or 48m Class Self-Erecting Cranes, can dramatically reduce your project costs on a typical 4-month, three-story build:
How the Calculator Works
The calculator helps you see how much money you can save on your project if you rent a self-erecting tower crane.
1. Enter the Crane Rental Cost
– At the top, type in how much it costs to rent the crane for your project.
2. Enter the Costs You’ll Avoid
– In the right-hand column, enter the dollar amounts for expenses you’ll no longer need (extra labor, telehandler, boom truck, pump truck, etc.). Use the blank rows for any additional costs you expect to eliminate.
– You can also add your own custom expenses in the blank rows if you know of other costs that will be eliminated.
3. See the Totals
– Total Cost Without Crane shows what you would have spent on those expenses if you didn’t rent the crane.
– Net Savings on Project w/ Rental subtracts the crane rental cost from the eliminated expenses. This is your actual savings.
For example, if you would normally spend $200,000 on extra labor and equipment, and the crane rental costs $40,000, then the total cost without crane = $200,000. The net savings are $200,000 – $40,000 = $160,000
In short:
Net Savings = (Expenses you eliminate) – (Crane rental cost).

Multiply that for a 35M Self-Erecting Crane across three similar projects per year and you could be adding $380,565 directly to your bottom line.
Other important things to consider
If your project is 12 stories or less and you were going to use a conventional tower crane, significant additional cost reductions are now possible.
A single self erecting crane can act to displace a tower crane on projects up to 12 stories tall.
As you may or may not know, it is extremely expensive to erect, operate and dismantle a tower crane.
Typically costs are:
- $45,000 - $65,000 to erect and dismantle a tower crane
- $15,000 - $20,000 throughout a 4 month project for 3 phase power installation and service for a tower crane
- $20,000 - $30,000 for the concrete base design and construction for a tower crane
- Plus the very high costs of tower crane operators and riggers
All of these costs can be significantly reduced if you use a self erecting crane instead of a tower crane on projects under 12 stories in height.
Why Contractors Choose Self-Erecting Cranes
- Improve Jobsite Conditions
Place your crane exactly where you need it, even on tight sites — no extra road prep or costly setup.
- Decrease Build Time
Handle materials more efficiently, reduce double-handling, and keep crews focused on core tasks.
- Reduce Equipment Costs
Say goodbye to multiple lifts, rentals, and specialized machinery. One crane does it all.
- Increase Manpower Efficiency
Free up framers and laborers for skilled tasks rather than manual material moving.
Proven Results You Can Bank On
Self-erecting cranes are a proven cost management strategy for low- to mid-rise projects. They can replace or supplement conventional tower cranes for projects up to 12 stories tall and are quick to erect, operate, and dismantle.
