Bigfoot Academy’s Level 1 Rigger Certification program takes 2-day to complete:
Day 1: Rigging Fundamentals Course
Complete one day of classroom instruction and practical, hands-on rigging training. Successful participants receive a Level 1 Rigger Certificate of Completion valid for three years.
Day 2: Level 1 Rigger Certification Assessment
Participants who have completed Rigging Fundamentals can continue to an individual assessment of their knowledge and practical rigging skills. Successful candidates receive a Level 1 Rigger Certificate of Competence and photo identification valid for five years.
Students and employers may register for the one-day Rigging Fundamentals Course on its own or complete both days to pursue full Level 1 Rigger Certification.
Taught by an accomplished Level 1 Rigger Certifier/Crane and Rigging instructor, the Level 1 Certification Training Program combines in-class content with practical experience. Students receive classroom theory and hands-on practical training including calculating load weights, finding the load centre of gravity, rigging loads and making actual crane lifts while giving direction to a crane operator. The goal of the Level 1 Training Program is to equip you for a safe career as a safe, knowledgeable and confident rigger.

Employers can use this training to establish a strong foundation of rigging knowledge, reduce preventable lifting hazards and help workers understand proper load handling before taking on more advanced rigging responsibilities.
The Level 1 Certification Assessment is completed by an authorized Rigger Certifier and evaluates the participant’s rigging knowledge and practical skills.
Participants who successfully complete the Rigging Fundamentals Course receive a Level 1 Rigger Certificate of Completion Digital Wallet Card, valid for three years.
Candidates who successfully complete the Level 1 Certification Assessment receive a Level 1 Rigger Certificate of Competence Digital Wallet Card, valid for five years.
