Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge

Why are Bigfoot’s Boscaro products appearing on some of North America’s highest profile projects?

Just ask Ed Hawthorne.

He was a Safety Manager for Walsh and PCL, a joint venture that was teaming up on some of the largest construction projects in North America. One such project for Walsh/PCL JV II was the $500 million replacement of the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge in New Haven, Connecticut.

Locals called it the Q Bridge, so named for crossing the Quinnipiac River. The project was the sixth of seven parts to the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing (NHHC) Corridor Improvement Program, which was one of the largest multimodal transportation improvement initiatives in Connecticut history. The new bridge became a part of history as the first extradosed bridge completed in the U.S., and the third in North America.

When Ed needed to ensure safety on site with equipment, he turned to the Boscaro product line. Bigfoot supplied two Boscaro Emergency Rescue Platforms, various sizes of self-dumping bins, barrel grabs, and other selections from the wide Boscaro product offerings.

When asked why Boscaro, Ed had the following to say: “Boscaro products have proven time and again their quality, safety, and durability. Boscaro products continue to offer significant value on the project.”
