The Bigfoot Training Academy Elevating Devices Mechanic 24-Hour Safety Certification Program provides specific safety training that Class A, C, & H Elevator Mechanics are required to complete initially and every three years to maintain certification.

Training topics covered in this program include:

Day 1 –

Module 1 – Due diligence, Rights & Responsibilities, OHSR, Injury Management

Module 2 – Hazard Assessment, & Control, Inspections, Housekeeping, PPE

Module 3 – Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS/GHS)

Module 4 – Fire Prevention (NFPA 10), Environmental Safety, Using Hand Tools

Day 2 –

Module 1 – De-Energization and Lockout, Using Power Tools

Module 2 – Electrical Safety & Exposure Control

Module 3 – Safe Use of Ladders, Scaffolding & Platforms

Module 4 – Public Safety, Hoisting & Rigging

Day 3 –

Module 1 – Introduction to Fall Protection, Hierarchy, Fall Arrest vs. Fall Restraint

Module 2 – Equipment Inspection, Fall Protection Plans, Fall Protection Knots

Module 3 – Practical Hands-on Exercises

Module 4 – Course Review, Written Exam
